Parks, Photos, Fall, and Harry Potter are all being celebrated this weekend

With Halloween just around the corner and fall in the air, it's no surprise that this weekend's must-do events include parks, a spooky festival, photography and witchery.

Harry Potter Weekend going down in Chestnut Hill this weekend.

Thursday: GLOW in the Park

GLOW in the Park is the Fairmont Park Conservancy’s new fall event to showcase Philly’s amazing parks and build the next generation of park champions.  This year we will be featuring and hosting the first GLOW in the Park in FDR Park at the historic boathouse.  This massive expanse of park space will allow you to enjoy everything about the outdoors including a fresh water tidal marsh. Who knew? GLOW in the Park will feature food from Philly mobile food truck fare, drinks and music by Hazie Blu.

Friday: Philly Photo Day

Grab your camera and take a picture this Friday. It could make you quasi famous. Philadelphia Photo Arts Center is hosting another Philly Photo Day. Every single photo that is submitted to them through their website will be printed and hung in a unique exibition about a day in the life of Philadelphia. A select few of those photos will also be featured on the side of Septa buses and trains and even billboards for an entire month. How cool is that. Just a few rules:

  1. Photo must be taken on Friday, October 26th.
  2. Photo must be taken in Philadelphia
  3. You can only submit ONE photo
  4. You can submit starting October 26th and through the 30th. Refer back to rule 1.

Share your photo with friends and see what everyone else is capturing using the hashtag #PhillyPhotoDay.
