Since the NCAA announcement was made Monday morning, the public, aka Facebook, has been going bazurk with their opinions of the sanctions put upon Penn State regarding their involvement of the Jerry Sandusky cover-up. Penn State alumni find this punishment astonishing, a low blow, completely without merit. Makes me ponder the question: Is Penn State some sort of cult?
You cannot tell me that if this were another state college that harbored an internally known pedophile for years, that you would all be so forgiving. There is 100% proof, even from beyond the grave, that even the celebrated Joe Paterno knew that this situation was being neglected. Now I’m not saying that the powers that be were supporting Sandusky and his “actions,” but what they were saying loud and clear, was the football stats and revenue were more important that the victims and their futures.
Penn State is complying with their ass that has been handed to them, as they should. I do not give them credit nor should anyone else. They were caught and must be punished accordingly. What the NCAA has in turn done is given them a second chance to regroup and possibly regain the status they once had. I find it a sad state of affairs, with what the town of Aurora is currently going through, that there are still those bitching about how unjust it is that Penn State can’t play in any bowl games.
Priorities, please.
