Mother Nature unleashed her wrath last week, and she’s not done yet

What a craptastic week huh?! If anyone was involved in that “Thunderstorm on bath salts” Mother Nature unleashed on us, you understand my sentiment. Personally, I think she’s PO’d about Obamacare, but that’s just my opinion.

So in the midst of a heat wave, hundreds of thousands of people were without power for days, which equaled no air conditioning/electric, and shudder…no Internet and cell phones. Cars and houses were destroyed by uprooted trees, and by uprooted, I mean yanked from the ground like God was picking daisies. The destruction was surreal, although a bit ironic as only a few months ago, the news was shoving “Hurricane whatever” down our throats, “evacuate here, leave the island there” and barely a leaf fell when it was all said and done. But this Derecho (what kind of word is that by the way), cripples the better part of Southern New Jersey and we had a minute’s warning.

Although I was lucky enough that power was not lost at my home nor did I have monumental damage, my heart went out to all the city workers, electricians, hell even Comcast for working around the clock to try to bring back some normalcy to their devastated residents. And the clean up and repair is still on going, 105 degrees or not.

To me, a storm like this is a real eye opener to any who may have doubts with regards to the power and ferocity of Mother Nature. I frequently make jokes on her behalf, but not any more; she has my respect. Maybe I’ll even study up on the philosophy of the Wiccans, they’re probably in good with her, right?

I’m ready for fall.
