More of Pittsburgh is coming to Philadelphia…in restaurant form

Adam Richman takes on a wing challenge at Quaker Steak & Lube on the "Man vs Food" show on the Travel Channel.

As if having the Pittsburgh Penguins in town for their series against the Philadelphia Flyers wasn’t bad enough. Now, we get word today, via the Pittsburgh Business Times, that chain Quaker Steak & Lube, which is based in Sharon, PA, has plans to build three restaurants in the Philadelphia region.

Just great.

Actually, this is great – legitimately, and not sarcastically.

Quaker Steak & Lube is known for its wings, and they have 22 sauces to prove it, ranging from the mild Ranch flavor to the out-of-this-world-hot Triple Atomic.

The restaurant was featured on an episode of the Travel Channel’s “Man Vs Food.” The show’s host, Adam Richman, was able to conquer the challenge – do you think you have the guts to do it? Soon enough, you will have the opportunity to find out.

The first Philadelphia-area restaurant is scheduled to open in April 2013, although the exact locations were not disclosed. In total, Quaker Steak & Lube has opened six new restaurants this year, will open 12 more before the end of this year, and have franchise agreements for 35 more.
