The Philly Dog spreads the word about March’s great pet-friendly events

If you're a pet lover, here are some great events going down in Philadelphia this month. From dog park etiquette to four-legged art, The Philly Dog helps us help you feel love.

There are lots of exciting events for our furry friends coming up in the month of March – from classes to Yappy Hours, Rittenhoused has you covered.

Do you take your dog to the dog park?  Then check out “Dog Do’s and Don’ts,” a workshop led by trainer Leigh Siegfried of Opportunity Barks, being held on Tuesday, March 6th from 7:00-8:00 pm at Central Bark Doggie Daycare located on 2001 S. 29th Street.  In this workshop you’ll watch video, learn  tips for polite park etiquette and discuss strategies to keep the peace. Cost is $25 and class will be open to owners only (no dogs, please).  Please contact Leigh for more information at (888) 672-2757 or sign up at info@opbarks.com.
Have an eye for art?  The Midwives Collective Artists are presenting a series dedicated to our four legged friends titled “Beasts,” a loving appreciation and tribute to our planet mates and companions.  A portion of the sales will be donated to Love Four Paws, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the homeless animals in Philadelphia.  The opening reception is on Friday, March 9th from 6-8 pm at at the Midwives Collective & Gallery located on 108 South 20th Street.
Get your drink on!  On Tuesday, March 27th, bring your pup along and enjoy food, drinks, and the company of other dog lovers in the enclosed, heated patio at Valley Green Inn located at Valley Green Road at Wissahickon.  50% of the proceeds are donated to PAWS, in support of their efforts to save Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals.

It’s that time of year again!  Time for the annual “FurBall” to benefit Morris Animal Refuge.  Come celebrate and help raise money for Morris on Saturday, March 31st from 7 PM-midnight!  The FurBall is taking place at the Arts Ballroom at 1324 Locust Street.  Wayne Pacelle, CEO and President of the Humane Society of the United States is the guest speaker and Mike Jerrick from Fox29 will be hosting.  For more details and tickets, visit www.PhillyFurBall.com.
