Philadelphians are full of themselves

Philadelphia is the fourth most vain city in America, according to a study of vanity by LivingSocial.

Did you hear what I said? Stop looking at yourself in those pants and pay attention to me for a second.

In an online survey of 4,000 Americans throughout the month of November, Philadelphia came behind only Miami, Chicago and Atlanta in how highly people rated their own looks. Believe it or not, we even beat Los Angeles and New York.

In all the cities, by the way, respondents gave themselves higher ratings than they gave the people around them.

… Yes, I’ve seen your Facebook photo already. It’s very nice. It’s also from 12 years ago. Now can we just focus for a second?

The 10 vainest cities in America were:  Miami (#1), Chicago (#2), Atlanta (#3), Philadelphia (#4), Phoenix (#5), Los Angeles (#6), Seattle (#7), Washington, D.C. (#8), New York (#9) and Tampa-St. Petersburg (#10).

Out of the 20 top media markets surveyed, the lowest self-esteem fell to Cleveland. The other lowest self-assessments came from Dallas (second to last), Detroit (third to last), Denver (fourth) and Minneapolis-St. Paul (fifth).

Are we truly better looking than people in Denver? More importantly, are we – or is anyone – actually less attractive than people in Chicago?
